I, too, suffer from facial PHN including the right eye. My eye care has included removal of catarac, laser...and continual moisture drops (every hour). My eye is scratchy constantly and my eye lid stays closed most of the time. I cannot read from the right eye on the Eye Chart.

Please let me know if you have found a specialist who might help both of us. I live in the Dallas/Fort Worth area of Texas.

Thank you.

My 85 year old mother suffers from postherpetic neuralgia right side head and mostly in the right eye since she had shingles several years ago. We have tried everything listed in the article. She currently takes two Lyrica daily and 3-5 Tylenol 3's just to maintain a level of comfort where she can actually function rather than lay and moan all day. Everyone says that narcotics don't work on phn. Could it be that the narcotic numbs her brain enough so that she is not as aware of the pain?
